The short version

Bezel is local-first. Your game library, saves, artwork, settings and Bezelie’s memories live on your own computer. We run no accounts for the free app, show no ads, and sell no data. The only things that ever reach our servers are what’s strictly needed to run a paid subscription: license validation and the AI requests that power Bezelie’s mind.

What stays on your device

• Your library, playtimes, save files, screenshots and settings.
• Bezelie’s memories of your sessions, her learning data and her configuration.
• Microphone audio for voice chat is transcribed locally on your machine by default; raw recordings are not stored.

What we process for subscribers

• Subscription status: when you activate Bezelie Premium, your license key is validated and a session token is stored on your device. We keep the minimum records needed to know a subscription is active and to prevent abuse (rate limiting).
• AI requests: to generate Bezelie’s replies, the relevant text of your conversation and game context is sent through our backend to our AI provider (OpenAI), processed to produce the reply, and not used by us to build profiles or for advertising. We do not sell this data.
• Payments: checkout is handled entirely by our merchant of record (the payment processor). We never see or store your card details. Their privacy policy applies to the payment itself; we receive your order reference and email so we can issue your license and support you.

Emails

We use your email only for receipts, license delivery and support replies. No marketing lists unless you explicitly opt in.

Your rights

You can request a copy or deletion of the subscription records we hold about you at any time by writing to retrobezel@gmail.com. Data on your own device is yours — deleting the app’s data folder removes it entirely.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the update will be posted here with a new date.
